To create the project shown here, follow the helpful hints and the Originals: Balance It Out™ pattern as outlined in our how-to book Originals®. For more detailed information on how to create the featured technique and project, or to purchase a copy of Originals, contact your Close To My Heart Consultant.
- Trim papers according to paper dimensions on page 102 of Originals. Cut one 3" × 1 3/4" and one 3" × 1 1/4" piece of White Daisy cardstock. (Note: The 3" × 1 3/4" piece of cardstock is for layering behind piece C. The 3" × 1 1/4" piece of cardstock is for the stamped gift.)
- Using Bamboo ink, stamp gift on the 3" × 1 1/4" White Daisy cardstock.
- Outline gift with a watercolor pencil. Color just inside borders of image, leaving center of gift Bamboo to help give watercolor effect in a later step.
- Color gift accents with coordinating watercolor pencils.
- Using the blending pen, draw color from edges to center of image, creating a watercolor effect.
- Using masking technique and Blush ink, stamp sentiment on piece C.
- Using the scissor distressing technique, rough edges of the 3" × 1 3/4" White Daisy cardstock and pieces A, B, and C.
- Using the sanding technique, distress surface of card base.
- Assemble card according to instructions on page 102, matting piece C with 3" × 1 3/4" White Daisy cardstock.
- Attach ricrac with Liquid Glass.
- Attach Twinkle Brads to center of pieces D; trim prongs.
